Millions of people use flock picks every day, but dentists including Dr. Lauren Becker are taking to TikTok and Instagram to say they are a terrible replacement for regular dental floss.
Why are floss picks so bad?
- Enjoy some local food, brews and views
- Visit Some of the many state parks
- Spot the famous Bixby Creek bridge
- An unforgettable visit to Big Sur, California
Are floss pickers ever okay to use?
Dentist Dr. Grace Smiles made a viral TikTok video explaining why floss picks are inferior to dental floss and demonstrated the proper way to do “C-shape” flossing with regular dental floss, which is generally considered the proper flossing technique, according to the National Institutes for Health.
Dr. Smiles did add that floss picks can be helpful in certain situations, especially for people with mobility issues or those who might have difficulty reaching their back teeth. She also said floss picks can be useful “in a pinch” admitting that she keeps them in her car for when she feels something stuck in her teeth.
What should you use to floss instead of floss picks?

Once you arrive in a new city, you probably don’t have much information on what to do unless you did your research before. That’s why it is always good to check the review sites like Tripadvisor and similar for the things to do and see, depending on your preferences.
Another service that you can take into account as part of your travel is a service that will help you store your luggage while you are exploring the city. For example, imagine that you came earlier to your place of stay and you cannot leave your luggage there. Instead of waiting for a few hours to get into the apartment, you can leave your luggage nearby and immediately start sightseeing.
I hope that some of these tips will help you save on your travel but not on the quality of your experiences. Enjoy traveling!
